BorrowLenses.com - Renting a Lens (part 2)

Sorry for the slight delay in getting this post out. I intended for it to go up on Monday but my schedule had other plans for me!

What a great experience so far. Here's what I found on my doorstep when I got home on Friday afternoon.

UPDATE: It's worth noting (as pointed out by a reader) that BorrowLenses.com requires a signature for delivery. I had made arrangements ahead of time with the delivery company to leave the box on the front porch, i.e. Signature Letter on file)

Upon opening the box, I found the Sigma 8mm Fisheye I ordered, extremely well packaged both in a plastic bag and completely encased in foam. In addition, included were return instructions and a prepaid FedEx label. The process doesn't seem like you could make it more simple.

I've played with the lens a little bit over the last week. Stay tuned for some example photos and the final installment of my BorrowLenses.com experience.

Comments

Rob, any comments about the fact that it was left on your porch without a signature? Was that pre-arranged, or a surprise? The FAQ on borrowlenses.com explicitly says that a signature is required on all packages.

Ben,

It was prearranged... I left a signature letter on the door for the delivery company. Should have made that more clear in the post. Thanks for pointing it out.
