On Assignment: Introducing The Judges

A big thank you to everyone that has signed up so far to participate in our big summer contest, On Assignment with Towner Jones Photography. The response so far has been overwhelmingly positive, and we've received a lot of great themes so far. I mentioned in the introductory post about the contest that I was working on putting together a panel of judges that would make the contest "even more exciting." Well I've been talking to some friends of Towner Jones Photography, they've all graciously accepted the job and I think I've achieved my goal.

Without further ado, in addition to Rose and I, here's who's going to be judging your photos...

Moore

Jason D. Moore

Jason runs the very popular Photoshop and Photography Blogroll
of which Towner Jones Photography is proud to be both a member and sponsor. Jason is an accomplished photographer, active photowalker, adobe certified expert and talented graphic artist.

Jeff, while being a truly outstanding photographer and author, can also be considered one of the true pioneers in popularizing the concept of photowalking. His website, PhotoWalkPro, is a favorite read for loads of photographers everyday where they can find "the latest news on photowalking, digital imaging, travel photography, photo equipment, HDR, and anything else that is photography related."

Kelby
Scott Kelby

Scott, a man who needs little introduction in the photography community, is the founder and president of the National Association of Photoshop Professionals (NAPP), author of best-selling photography and technology books, CEO of the Kelby Media Group, editor-in-chief of Layers Magazine, seminar instructor, and top-notch photographer. (just to name a few of the things that keep him busy)

Thanks guys, for being willing to serve as judges for what I think is shaping up to be a great summer event! For those of you who haven't already registered, you've still got time - get your registration in and enjoy a summer On Assignment with Towner Jones Photography.

You got the big guns, didn't you? ;-)

I meant to ask before, are the submissions going to be displayed on-line? I think it would be really interesting to see the themes and photos series that go with them.

Wanted to make it as exciting as possible!

As far as displaying the submissions - the plan right now is to display the work of the top 10 finalists. That's subject to change, but my current plan for the time being. Still haven't seen an entry from you yet, Julie!

Still thinking! ;-) It's way harder than I thought it would be to come up with a theme! Can we submit two themes?

I'm glad you'll display the finalists. Any chance that the judges might make some remarks about the finalists' images too?

Boy, how did you manage to get a great judging panel including the man himself Scott Kelby. It is going to make this tougher on the competitors to bring their best work forward. Thank god we have a little bit of time on our side to get it done.

I can't wait to see the entries...

Is there going to be prizes for runner ups in the contest? If not, you should consider it.
