Perfect Layers: Combining Images into a Collage

My buddy Patrick over at onOne Software has sent me a pre-release version of their newest tool, Perfect Layers, so that I could do a quick demo for you. What I've decided to show you is how quickly, and easily I can combine three seperate images into a collage. Keep in mind this is a pre-release demo, but this will give you a quick idea of how much power this will add to your Lightroom workflow. For what it's worth, I haven't had a whole lot of time to play around with this software yet, but 1) it's really easy to come up to speed on, 2) it brings along a large subset of photoshop's layers functionality, and 3) it loads from lightroom pretty darn fast. All in all, it's pretty slick.

Make sure you maximize the video to full screen so you can see what's going on.

Go grab your own copy of the preview version at onOne's website and give it a try for yourself.

P.S. If you want to help support this blog, click on the banner below on your way to purchase your own copy when you decide it's worth buying.

Cool New Software from onOne

First off, a huge thank you to our awesome sponsor onOne who continues to send over cool deals to pass along to our readers.

It's really a pleasure to share their stuff with you because I do actually use their products and I know what a difference they make in my workflow. The value they add for my clients far outweighs their cost.

However, they aren't satisfied with just making high-value software, they're now offering some fantastic tools that are available for free. Yes you read that right, free. With no strings attached. These aren't the same as their trial versions, these are actual freebies... and they're definately worth a download.

In my opinion, if you're a Lightroom user, first grab their "Perfect Presets for Lightroom" - it rivals a lot of the preset libraries out on the net that you'll pay more than a hundred bucks for. Also, if you're not currently an owner of onOne's Perfect Photo Suite, you'll love PhotoTools 2.5 and PhotoFrame 4.5 Free Editions!!

If you click the banner below, it will take you to their free download site - and yes, under full disclosure, it does keep track that I sent you there. So go pay a visit, and help me keep supporting this great company.

onOne University Webinar

For my fellow Apple iTunes and onOne Software friends. I wanted to point out that onOne's fantastic "onOne University Webinars" (available for free, here.) are now included on iTunes as the onOne University Podcast. What I've found to be a really useful iPad technique - download a tutorial like these and have it running next to you when you're working on your main computer. This way, you don't tax the computing resources on your machine. It works great and it's extremely helpful to have the tutorial running along side you in real time... Hope you enjoy!

Wedding Photography - Cami's Bridal Shots - Northern Virginia

Sometimes, it rains on your wedding day. This can be a difficult moment for some brides.

Cami, however, certainly wasn't going to let the weather have any control over her wedding day. With a big smile on her face, her normal bubbly personality, and a bright red umbrella, she decided to simply make it into a photo op.
